How we use AI
Last changed 23 October 2026 · What changed
AI helps us collect facts, draft short news briefs and check our work. A story carries an editor's name only when a person approved it.
What AI does here
AI reads sources, pulls out the facts, drafts short briefs and runs checks for style, links and originality. It has no power to publish on its own about a named business, to set a price or to change a ranking.
What AI does not do
We never publish a fact the AI cannot trace to a source. We do not use AI to write reviews, to award anything, or to write what an Insider says. Insider reviews are the contributor's own words.
Ask the Guide
Ask the Guide is a question box. It answers only from our own stories and listings, links to the pages it used, and says so when it does not know. Questions are stored with emails and phone numbers masked, and anonymised after 90 days.
Providers
We use AI providers under terms that do not allow our content or your questions to be used to train their models.
